Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a couture gown take to create?

Every Judy Copley Couture gown is made entirely by hand and created exclusively for you. As every design is unique, completion times vary depending on the complexity of your gown, including bespoke lacework, hand beading and custom detailing. Some gowns can be completed within a matter of weeks, while others may take several months. A personalised timeline will be discussed during your consultation.

How much does a custom gown cost?

Our bespoke couture gowns begin from $7,995, with many designs ranging up to $50,000 or more.

Because every gown is individually designed, no two are ever the same. Your investment is determined by the design, choice of fabrics, European laces, hand embellishments, bespoke beading, construction techniques and overall complexity of the gown. Additional fittings or significant design changes throughout the process may also affect the final investment.

How many fittings are included?

Your couture experience includes three to four personalised fittings, allowing every detail of your gown to be refined to perfection.

Should additional fittings be required, they are available at $295 per appointment.

Will you dress me on my wedding day?

Yes. Judy offers an exclusive wedding day dressing service, ensuring your gown is fitted beautifully before you walk down the aisle.

This service is available for selected locations, with call-out fees starting from $995. Please enquire during your consultation for availability.

Do you provide a garment bag?

Yes. Every couture gown is presented in a complimentary Judy Copley Couture garment bag to help protect your gown before your wedding day.

What happens if I become pregnant before my wedding?

Life sometimes brings unexpected surprises, and we understand that circumstances can change.

Where possible, alterations can be made to accommodate changes in your body. These alterations are quoted individually and charged separately from your original gown.

What if I lose weight before my wedding?

Weight fluctuations are very common throughout the bridal journey.

Where possible, your gown can be professionally altered to ensure a beautiful fit. Alterations are quoted individually depending on the changes required.

Do you create gowns for red carpet events and special occasions?

Absolutely.

While Judy is renowned for couture bridal gowns, she also designs extraordinary gowns for red carpet events, galas, awards evenings, black tie occasions and milestone celebrations. If you can dream it, Judy can create it.

Do you create Mother of the Bride or Mother of the Groom gowns?

Yes.

Judy also creates bespoke couture gowns for mothers of the bride and groom. These gowns follow the same couture design process as our bridal gowns and begin from the same starting investment.

Can I bring family or friends to my appointments?

Your first consultation is a wonderful opportunity to bring your loved ones along if you wish.

For future design appointments and fittings, Judy generally prefers to work one-on-one with her brides. Years of experience have shown that too many opinions can make decisions feel overwhelming and distract from your own vision.

These appointments are an intimate and collaborative experience, allowing Judy to focus entirely on you, your gown and creating something that feels authentically yours.
